Dec 1, 2023 · What my department is currently working with rather than textbooks is a (middling at best imo) district curriculum with premade lesson slides, and district-approved online resources such as Peardeck and canned content such as StudySync (uggggggh). I didn’t enjoy using it with my school, because the platform is difficult for students to get into, it randomly deactivated students’ accounts, and sometimes assignments one teacher made would Jan 28, 2024 · And studysync only has two questions for each story that are on the skill or benchmark. There are many reasons I dislike it — most texts (especially the ones worth digging into, like The Great Gatsby) are incredibly short and disjointed excerpts. I work at a pilot school that was once an alternative school. That should signal that over the years we have done relatively well and changed the trajectory for many. 🤷🏼‍♀️ There was a time I really considered leaving the district because I disagree with using a completely scripted curriculum. Aug 30, 2021 · My English team is using StudySync for the first time this year, and we find it incredibly challenging to use because: Your classes aren't distinct entities in the StudySync gradebook (for that matter, the entire platform). I would take only the parts of StudySync you find useful and do the rest the old fashioned way.
